ADD/ADHD Attention Deficit Disorder

Children have special needs through their various stages of development.

In the early years, it is important to monitor the milestones of development. As our children grow to school age, we want to ensure common issues like asthma, eczema and allergies are identified and well-managed. As they enter school we want to support healthy attention and focus, as well as physical activity. Throughout the school years, a whole new set of concerns appears. There has been a remarkable increase in attention deficit disorders, and there is no one single explanation for this.

Some common symptoms of ADD/ADHD include:
  • Impulsiveness.
  • Disorganization and trouble with prioritizing.
  • Poor time management.
  • Difficulty focusing on tasks.
  • Trouble multitasking.
  • Excessive activity or restlessness.
  • Poor planning.
  • Easily frustrated and low tolerance.

Dr Joe will take the time to review many underlying issues such as environmental exposures, food sensitivity, gut health and microbiome.  Dr Joe is sensitive to the special needs of children of all ages and is able to work with them to help them understand how food and lifestyle can be an important factor in their health.
